Phnom Bakheng is located about 1.5 kilometers northwest of Angkor Wat, near the south gate of Angkor Thom. This small hill rises about 65 meters high and is the highest point in the area, offering commanding views of Angkor Wat. The hill is home to Bakheng Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. The main attraction of Phnom Bakheng is its spectacular sunset views. There are two ways to reach the summit: walking or riding an elephant. To enter the temple at the top, you need to climb steep stairs. At the summit stands Bakheng Temple, featuring a five-tiered pyramid base with five towers at the top, symbolizing the five peaks of Mount Meru. Besides the central tower, there are numerous smaller towers arranged in strict geometric patterns, though many are now in ruins. Despite its deteriorated state, the temple offers expansive views. To the west lies the vast West Baray, to the southeast is Angkor Wat nestled in the jungle, and to the south you can see Tonle Sap Lake in the distance. When the sun sets, the golden light creates a romantic and unforgettable view of Angkor.
2025/10/18\n入場料12ドル\n\nガイドなしで楽しみました。\n大きなミュージアムなので最短でも1時間半は必要です。説明がすこし少ないのは残念でしたが、展示物自体は圧巻でした。\n\n途中で、5分ほどのビデオ視聴コーナーがあるのでそこで理解を深めれます。日本語、韓国語対応できます。\n\n土曜日に訪れましたが、訪問客は少なかったので、ゆっくり回れました。お土産を販売してましたが、値段は高かった。
Its was 12 dollars to get in and the voice tour was a further 5 but I can never stick to them so I declined and just went freely. Great video at the start and then the exhibits were all very well signed , lots to see , great descriptions , lots of space to move around too.\nWorth a visit
grab tuktukで国道沿いのホテルから$1で行けた。暑い午後の半日をここに当ててほしい。クメール王朝の歴史、宗教と政治と寺院の彫刻の関係を学べる貴重な機会だった。

This was one of the first stops on my trip, and it was the perfect introduction to Khmer history and culture. The museum is modern, clean, and thoughtfully curated. Exhibits range from ancient sculptures and religious artifacts to displays of traditional costumes and architecture. The Gallery of 1,000 Buddhas is especially impressive.\n\nHighly recommend visiting here before going to Angkor Wat. It gives helpful context that makes the temples even more meaningful. Also, great for escaping the afternoon heat in Siem Reap! 😄
