I was there 10 years ago so not much development at that time. It is not too far from SIhanouk ville and we came back enjoying the snorkeling to see coral reef at Koh Tres on the way - not sure if they have the speedboat now.
Koh Russey or Bamboo island will see a huge development for tourists.
Great clean beautiful beach. Unfortunately, we went on a small boat on windy day and it almost capsized many times which seemed funny for the captain. My relatives were all sick when we arrived so we spent much of the afternoon on the beach and not exploring the mountains. My advice, take a big boat.
