Ta Keo is a temple-mountain located east of Angkor Thom and northwest of Ta Prohm Temple. It is notable for being the first temple in the Khmer Empire built entirely of sandstone. The most distinctive feature of Ta Keo is that it was never completed, making it the only major Angkor temple with almost no decorative carvings, thus revealing the raw construction techniques of Angkor architecture. The temple consists of three tiers of platforms built from hard, long sandstone blocks, topped by five lotus-shaped towers similar in style to Angkor Wat. Although the towers were fully constructed, their surfaces remain uncarved. Legend has it that during construction, the temple was struck by lightning, which the king interpreted as a divine warning, leading to the abandonment of the project. Located less than 1 kilometer east of the Victory Gate of Angkor Thom, Ta Keo features two galleries surrounding the first and second tiers. The temple-mountain has staircases on all four sides, with the eastern approach being the most gradual and the western the steepest. Climbing the long stairways leads to the summit, where the central tower, the tallest of the five, rises about 50 meters above ground level. From the top of Ta Keo, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of endless green forests, and on clear days, see the entirety of Angkor Thom and distant views of Phnom Kulen mountain.

山顶的佛像很漂亮，是从山顶岩石雕刻而成的，但要爬到那里需要爬一段时间。每隔几公里就有一名警卫，而且一开始就有很多新手。我从寺庙层走到瀑布，不得不艰难地走过一条被冲刷过的泥土路，才能看到瀑布上方的杆子和绳索。我觉得这次旅行不算完全浪费，但他们可以把路标做得更好，保持干净。
